Zooey Deschanel, who seems to live her life as if the movie industry invention "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" were an actual thing, dropped out of university because "my specialness [was] not appreciated in this place".  She further comments on how rough it is to not be appreciated as the unique snowflake she is in an interview with Allure (via Gawker).  Good thing Hollywood is willing to fawn all over her in the manner which she deserves.

So it turns out that we don't have to feel guilty about loving those super-violent action movies anymore, as research shows they may actually prevent, rather than encourage, real-world violence.

Good news for me, since my romantic Valentines Day viewing was Punisher: War Zone, and I wasn't planning on going on a killing spree anytime soon...

I've written before about my distaste for the hipster-y bacon trend of the past few years.  But with baconlube I think we can all agree that it's time for it to end.  Stop the madness, people.

It has truly been an incredible year: revolutions, mass protest movements, the deaths of multiple tyrants and a heated pre-election season in the United States.  And yet, if I can humbly impart you with one image to remember 2011 by, let it be this:
