April told us about a couple of her favourite songs, Emily shared a hilarious roast of one of the world's worst Christmas songs, and now I'll throw a couple more of my favourites this year into the mix. Check out the following offerings from Coldplay,  Roger Whittaker, Judy Garland, and She & Him.

In 2010, Coldplay released an original Christmas song, "Christmas Lights", and it is quite enjoyable. When you hear the same 10 songs again and again at this time of year, it is great to find a good new one.

My next offering is a really strange song, but I love it. The song is "The Holly and the Ivy". The version that I most enjoy is by Roger Whittaker. It has a fun, upbeat Christmassy tempo to it, and then it really hits with you unexpectedly graphic religious elements. Score. 

Another great version of a classic song I am enjoying this year is Ms. Judy Garland's take on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". As with many of her songs, there is an underlying sadness in her voice and it just gives me that depressing Christmas vibe that is so oddly comforting. 

And finally, we have a great version of the creepiest Christmas song of all (that is still really enjoyable). This is from She & Him (yes, that indie band with Zooey Deschanel), and the song is "Baby It's Cold Outside". What makes this version fun is that the woman in the duo sings the too-aggressive, I'm going to maybe put something in your drink so you'll do me at Christmas, portion of the song usually sung by the dude (see especially the Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton version for this). Anyway, this one from She & Him is a fun, fast version of the classic (where classic means super creepy and inappropriate).
