Call to Artists: Karsh-Masson Gallery and the City Hall Art Gallery

Application Deadline: June 8, 2009

The City of Ottawa presents exhibitions in the Karsh-Masson Gallery and the City Hall Art Gallery in order to promote and increase awareness of the visual arts and heritage of Ottawa.

The types of exhibitions to be selected include:
• exhibitions by local, national and international professional artists working in fine art, craft, design and other new art forms
• exhibitions from local universities and the diplomatic sector
• exhibitions from the City's fine art collection as well as the archival and heritage collections
• circulating exhibitions from other institutions

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Your submission must include:

• four copies of a statement regarding the exhibition, describing a coherent theme for the show

• four copies of biographical information of the artist(s), including participating artists' CVs where possible

• one set of a maximum of 10 slides or 10 digital images of current work that supports the exhibition proposal

• four copies of an image list

Please label each slide or image file with a number and title of work to ensure that they are presented chronologically and are consistent with the image list.

Digital Images must be PC compatible and:
• be in .jpg, .tiff or .bmp format
• have an approximate resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels
• be submitted on a CD ROM
(No zip disks, hyperlinks or email submissions)

The jury will only consider one exhibition submission per applicant.

One complete submission should be mailed or delivered to:

Ottawa, Ontario K1N 5H9

The complete package must be received by 4 p.m. on the deadline date or postmarked on June 8, 2009. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
