MAROON 5
Hands All Over

www.maroon5.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Levine recently told Billboard that "Hands All Over," which was produced by Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Shania Twain), "kind of hearkens back to the spirit behind the first record [2002's quadruple platinum 'Songs About Jane']." The singer said the new album's title track is one of the hardest rocking tracks Maroon 5 has ever recorded while single "Misery" is "the most Maroon 5-sounding song on the album." Also keep an ear out for country-flavored "Out of Goodbyes," which features a guest appearance by Lady Antebellum, and the '60s pop-flavored "Stutter," which Levine said is "not like anything you've heard from us before."

JOHN LEGEND & THE ROOTS
Wake Up!

www.johnlegend.com
Dist: Sony Music Canada

Musical powerhouses John Legend & The Roots are presenting fans with a fiery new offering, Wake Up! The CD features soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s all with an underlying theme of awareness, engagement and consciousness— effectively telling listeners to Wake Up! R&B singer John Legend and hip-hop band The Roots were inspired by the recent historical Presidential election campaign on 2008 and wanted to be involved in the action of representing change, hope, and activism. The result is an album infused with sounds of gospel, rock, reggae, and hip-hop. Familiar tracks such as “Wholly Holy” by Marvin Gaye and “Little Ghetto Boy” by Donny Hathaway highlight the album. “Wake-Up Everybody” is the albums first single, featuring contributions from Melanie Fiona and Common. It includes four verses discussing issues about education, health care, and the environment. Wake Up! blends Legend’s expressive, thoughtful vocal interpretations with an element of funk that only The Roots can provide.

METHODS OF MAYHEM
A Public Disservice Announcement

Dist: Warner Music Canada

Tommy Lee has returned with an all-new mayhem. It has been over 10 years since the first Methods of Mayhem album. The album went GOLD behind a number of radio hits and Tommy went back to his duties in the Crue! The second Methods of Mayhem album, A Public Disserve Announcement, was the first truly collaboration effort an artist of Tommy’s magnitude has ever dared to attempt. Forget what you know about Methods, this new album has the hard rock snarl you expect from Tommy, as well as surprising infectious hooks.

ZAC BROWN BAND
You Get What You Give

www.zacbrownband.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

You Get What You Give features a genre-defying collection of songs that the band has been testing on the road over the past year. Stand out tracks include: the somber piano-driven early fan favorite "Colder Weather," the reggae-leaning, jam-inducing "Who Knows," and a harmony-laced lesson on the merits of chasing after love "As She's Walking Away."
Praised for the ability to blend "down-home country with bits of reggae, bluegrass and rock to create a high-quality musical stew" (USA Today), front man Zac Brown notes that the new album "is representative of where we are right now. It combines elements of our southern rock and country roots, but also stays true to our jam-band style musicianship from the live show."'

SERJ TANKIAN
Imperfect Harmonies

www.serjtankian.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

One of the most unconventional frontmen in rock, Serj Tankian, the voice of System Of A Down, emerged as a solo artist with his debut album Elect The Dead. His new album, Imperfect Harmonies has shaped up to be as powerful and musically eclectic as its predecessor.
Once again, Tankian's album takes a multi-themed approach to the lyrics, which he describes as addressing the political, environmental, social, and personal. "Elect the Dead is essentially a rock record with progressive melodic elements. Imperfect Harmonies could be classified as rock because it is punchy with many peaks throughout, but the instrumentation is somewhat different. Though there are live drums, bass, and some guitars, the driving aspects are electronic and orchestral. It's quite unique in its sound palette.

BILLY CURRINGTON
Enjoy Yourself

www.billycurrington.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Enjoy Yourself is the follow up release to the critically acclaimed “Little Bit Of Everything” which included the #1 hit single “That’s How Country Boys Roll”. The Sound Of Sunshine

michaelfranti.com
Dist: EMI Music Canada

The Sound Of Sunshine – the inspired and inspiring new album by Michael Franti And Spearhead – is a kind of musical sun shower, a bright, beautiful and often buoyant song cycle created to bring all kinds of listeners a sense of hope during rough and rainy times for so many in our world. In the mid-Nineties, Franti first formed Spearhead, and increasingly in recent years, he’s found his own voice musically and his own organic brand of popular success. Franti and Spearhead’s last album, 2008’s All Rebel Rockers – recorded in Jamaica with legendary producers and players Sly & Robbie – became the biggest hit of Franti’s career, hitting the Top 40 on the US Billboard 200, and yielded his biggest hit, the Top 20 “Say Hey (I Love You).”

TIN STAR ORPHANS
The Days Of Blinding Fear

www.tinstarorphans.com
Dist: EMI Music Canada

Sonically, ‘the days of blinding fear‘ is a real departure for Tin Star Orphans. The album is more electric and epic sounding compared to the band’s previous effort, Yonder (2009). Working once again as a production team, guitarist Dean Marino and Bennett relied less on additional instruments, such as strings and horns, and more on the core band, utilizing the high ceilings and lush reverbs at Marino’s studio, Chemical Sound (Toronto). Booming drums, swelling organs and layers of guitar pay homage to the classic ‘wall of sound’ aesthetic found on classic albums such as Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born to Run’ and Neutral Milk Hotel’s ‘In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’.

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION
Black Country Communion

www.bccommunion.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

Black Country Communion is a devastating head-on collision between American and British Rock influences- a true super group that delivers a titanic rock experience greater than the sum of it’s supremely talented parts.
The seed for Black Country Communion was planted when legendary front man and bass guitarist Glen Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Trapeze) and master blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa combined forces on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Centre’s “King of The Blues” event.
The brainchild of producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin), the band added to it’s rock lineage with powerhouse drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and keyboardist Derek Sherinan.

MODERN SUPERSTITIONS
All The Things We’ve Been Told

Dist: Universal Music Canada

Modern Superstitions are an intense new band hailing out of Toronto, a trio of childhood pals specializing in an original vision that blends pop, rock, punk and Motown with the melodic invention of a White Stripes and the sparse vigour of a Velvet Underground.
Hailed as a band to watch in the future, Modern Superstitions’ teenage members – leather-lunged singer Nyssa, guitarist Matthew and bass player Harry – offer compelling life observations on the dramatically spunky “Go Between” and the powerful “Mercy Line” with an eye on achieving three noble ambitions: great song-writing, integrity and longevity.

THE SET
Monsters

www.thesetistruth.com
Dist: Warner Music Canada

This past winter, armed with a dozen newly penned songs, THESET began working on their new album that was produced by Julius “Juice” Butty (Alexisonfire, City In Colour, Protest The Hero), at his Silo Studios in Hamilton Ontario. The band’s long and circuitous journey to this point took casualties along the way, when part way through the recording of the album, guitarist’s Elliot Carter and Jory McKay decided to depart the group to pursue non-music endeavours. Undaunted, the remaining core members of the band took this as an opportunity to regroup and put the recording on hold for a moment to tour for a month as direct support for Protest The Hero on the Snocore tour. Upon their return, re-energized by the road, the band went back into the studio with Juice to finish recording the album.

MATT COSTA
Mobile Chateau

www.mattcosta.com
Dist: Universal Music Canada

In Matt Costa’s world, the only constant is change. Mining his longtime love for ‘60’s psychedelic superheroes Mobile Chateau is a bold step forward into the kaleidoscope beyond. “I’ve always been drawn to that sound,” Costa reveals. “I’ve been hearing songs like these in my head for my whole life and Mobile Chateau is the closest I’ve gotten to getting those songs out of my head and onto a record.”
