Photo: Bob Mahoney/The CW ©2010With apologies for not posting about last week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, "There Goes the Neighborhood," sooner, I won't bog you down with the gory details a day before the next episode airs. Suffice it to say:

Stefan is Still the Most Badass Vamp on This Show

Sure, Pearl's the strongest, and she does use her vamp strength against Damon and Frederick (even staking Frederick in the stomach to prove a point), but did she get staked with a huge shard of glass, rip that shard out, break a chair, and stake and kill her attacker? No, but Stefan did. Looks like he's going to pay dearly for that in the next episode, but until then he retains the Most Badass title. Damon let his attacker get away. What does it take, Damon?

Jeremy Gilbert, Vampire

Boy, was I off on this one. Turns out all Jeremy's research into vampires (they are for real, brother!) isn't going to lead to him teaming up with a wisely absent Alaric and dishing out some vampire justice. Nope, Jeremy remembers just enough of what went down with Vicki to figure she's a vampire (if I were drinking right now, I would pour one out for that girl, killed as she was by sexism) and . . . I don't know, exactly. That if he were one, too, he could find her? That being a vampire would be an improvement over his current existence? Point is, he forces Anna to reveal herself and ask her to turn him.

In other news: Matt and Caroline are still together, Damon is getting pushed around by Pearl on her "kill this town" plan, Mama Donovan still sucks as mothers go but totally rocks to get drunk with if you are Jenna and Damon.

Next time: Stefan gets kidnapped and tortured because it seems that all the vamps blame him for how things went down in 1864. More importantly, on April 15th, David Anders (a.k.a. Sark of Alias fame) shows up as a modern day Jonathan Gilbert. I cannot wait.
