Time to plan you weekend, arts-style.

Friday

"Points of Suspension/Points du suspension," the annual showcase of works by Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduating class of 2009 (University of Ottawa, 100 Laurier Ave. East), will be on display from April 24th - April 30th, 2009. Be sure to attend the vernissage on Friday, April 24th from 7 to 10 p.m., as it is an event you will not want to miss. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.

I will protect you

Patrick Mikhail Gallery (2401 Bank Street) presents "recant, recoil, recollect, breathe, let go, ahh ..." by artist nichola feldman-kiss (pictured, "I WILL PROTECT YOU") from April 22 to May 30, 2009. The reception's tonight, Friday, April 24, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. There's also an artist talk on Sunday, May 10th, at 2 p.m.

SAW Video presents at an artist's talk with video artist Paul Wong tonight, April 24, at 7:30pm at Club SAW (67 Nicholas St).

Saturday

Spins & Needles has Craft and DJ Night this Saturday, April 25th. It's a clothing remix and remake party. You can check it out at Rideau Canal Junior Ranks Mess Hall (4 Queen Elizabeth Dr., beside Ottawa City Hall, just east of Elgin and Lisgar) from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cover's $ 10 with a bag of clothing; party's all ages. 

Sunday

"New Works - Old Friends" is on at The Mud Oven's Gallery just until this Sunday. This show is a combination of Chandler Swain's paintings and pottery, and Robin Hollingdrake's mixed media paintings. Meet the artists Sunday, April 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. and enjoy iced tea with fruit and cheeses. To get a preview of the show, click here.
