La Petite Mort Gallery (306 Cumberland) presents "Let the fear In," another of their One Night Stands, with Bill Stillman & Beaston. Friday July 17, 2009 / 7 - 10 pm

Gallery 101 (301 1/2 Bank Street) & Fait Maison proudly present the second event for the exhibition "Honey, not tonight": A Surprise Party hosted by Hélène Lefebvre with guest artists Sylvie Tourangeau, Véronqiue Guitard, and Hugo Gaudet-Dion. July 17 at 7:00 pm / Admission is free and open to the public.

Artguise Gallery (590 Bank St) is pleased to welcome back painter Nic De Socio (artwork pictured) for his second solo exhibit. Nic's new body of work employs scintillating colour with well articulated line work. His compositions both define and block out spacial forms using loosely structured orthogonal patterns. In this new body of work one will find a balanced relationship between spacious, free-form colour-scapes and modern urban cartography.The vernissage is tonight, Friday, July 17, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Saturday

Art in the Park(ing lot) of Canteen Gallery (238 Dalhousie): Music and live arts by progressive people in our city. A creative collaboration Saturday after noon. July 18th, 12pm - 6pm

If you prefer an actual park, there's also Urban Art @ Minto Park - located at Elgin and Gilmour streets for a great urban art show with fine art, music and food. Show is from 9 am to 5pm.

Rideau Canal Museum gallery - "Waterways: the Seasons of our Rivers" for the month of July. Kathleen Wright features oil paintings and digital photos. Demo July 18, 19. The Rideau Canal Museum is in Smiths Falls, 34 Beckwith Street S. Tel: 613-613-284-0505

Karhs-Masson Gallery (136 St. Patrick Street) presents "Karsh of Ottawa: Donated Photographs to the City of Ottawa's Fine Art Collection" from July 15 to July 26, 2009. The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Find more information here.
