On Friday November 5th 15:00-21:00, the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa will be opening its doors to the public to commemorate its 5th anniversary. Tour the darkroom, computer lab and studio spaces, and view displays, slide shows, demonstrations, live shoots and exhibitions of images by full-time students from Levels 1 and 2 of the SPAO Portfolio Program. In yet more not-coming-t0-Ottawa news, add TwiCon to the list. In fact, TwiCon has ceased operations and did so in March (where was I? Oh, how your ace vampire reporter has let you down). Excellent news, fang-bangers: TwiCon got booted from its location in downtown Toronto thanks to this little thing called the G20 summit, so they relocated to Landsdowne Park. Say, what? Yup, Ottawa was on the radar, and now it's the place to be June 25 to 27 for TwiHards, TwiMoms, and people who like Sam from True Blood.
